The Syracuse Crunch enjoyed a fruitful Thanksgiving weekend, picking up a pair of victories against two division rivals, Toronto and Binghamtom.
With the two victories the Crunch improved to 10-5-1 and sit in second place in the North Division, percentage points ahead of Toronto heading in to a four-game week, including two games at St. John’s on Tuesday and Wednesday before back-to-back games against Rochester on Saturday and at Hershey on Sunday.

The weekend kicked off in dramatic fashion at home against Toronto.
The Crunch fell behind 3-0 early in the second period on Colin Greening’s shorthanded goal a minute in to the middle frame. That’s when the Syracuse comeback began.
Jeremy Morin kicked off the rally with a power play goal during a 5-on-3 at 2:10 of the second period. Joel Vermin finished off a tic-tac-toe combination during a power play to make it 3-2 at 5:10 while Michael Bournival pulled the Crunch even at 5:42.
Toronto regained the lead with a power play goal later in the period, but Matt Taromina answered that 23 seconds later to pull Syracuse even again.
Neither team could find the back of the net in the third to send the game to overtime.
Dylan Blujus would pick up the extra point for the Syracuse victory, notching the game-winner 1:59 in to the overtime.
Kristers Gudlevskis picked up the victory in goal, finishing with 26 saves.
The next night in Binghamton, Mike Halmo led the Syracuse attack with a pair of goals while Adam Wilcox picked up the victory after making 30 saves.
Taormina and Vermin also scored as Syracuse built a 3-0 lead before holding on for the victory and close out the weekend.
